Meet our Staff

    Kathleen Alexander

Born in Galveston County I grew up spending most of my formative years on the heels of my Grandpa at "the cow pen."  At that time there were many small farms in the area that provided fresh meats, dairy, eggs and produce for their family and friends.  One of my fondest memories was the day he found me sitting on the fencing that separated the barnyard from the grazing area petting a bull's forehead.  I was very young and did not realize the danger and why bull's had nose rings.  The second most important person in my life is my Mom and her wondrous desire for travel, inevitably leading to camping trips every summer to various state and national forests and parks.  Thus my development, passion and respect for the environment and all outdoor activities.  I moved to Houston in 1969 and have pursued many different endeavors (too numerous to list) from corporate to the present having joined the staff at Houston Pro Pet Sitters.

I share my homestead with my beloved collie (Pinto), cats (Beau-Beau, Kitti-su, Buddy and Booh-ki), two aquariums, a koi pond, seven box turtles and all the "wildlife" that visit and reside in my native garden.  From my earliest memories I have been around all "creatures great and small" and feel qualified to share my life experiences with you and your special loved ones.

I have a deep passion and love for animals that have been driving forces in my life since early childhood. I look after animals with careful thought and understanding of their needs and wants. I truly believe that animals are angels on earth here to bring unconditional amounts of joy and love to us all. It's an honor to be given the opportunity to look after them from the depths of my heart as they have so often done for me.

I absolutely LOVE pet sitting because it enables animals to operate at their natural state of being. They can stay in their safe space and be cared for and loved on by the hands of those who treat them like one of their own.

Each animal has a different unique and very special personality. They are truly a gift to us all.

I started professionally getting involved with animals in 2006 when I began working as a kennel technician at a veterinary clinic. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 and continued to pursue my interest in the veterinary field in hopes to move up to a vet tech position Around the same time, Lemuria, my queen kitty, came to me at one of the clinics I worked at and is still very much a large part of our little family.

I started pet sitting as a side job in 2010 and shortly after that I began doing animal communication helping people to understand why their animals have come into their lives and what lessons they have come to teach one another. Helping people develop a deeper emotional understanding of themselves through their animals has brought immense joy into my heart.

I had my daughter, Arabella, about a year after I began pursuing animal communication in July of 2013. She is the light of my life. Having her has really pushed me to follow my dream of helping people and animals in a big way. It has deeply motivated me to strive to be an inspirational role model for her in her own pursuit of happiness.

I recently have changed career paths from office work to being a professional dog walker / pet sitter. Being an animal lover, I have had the kind privilege of handling dogs, cats, birds, and even fish. I have volunteered at the local Houston SPCA, and a current advocate against animal cruelty and their foes. Knowing that your pets are in the care of other people, I understand that you would expect professional, yet loving care as you would treat them.

Since all pets, have their different personalities; you can rest assured that your pet will grow and adapt to my kindness and I look forward to any bond I can form with them as their dog walker / pet sitter. I am pleased to let you know that I will enjoy being in the company of your pets and they will be treated as if my own! I am a Christian; some of my hobbies include reading the bible, working-out, enjoy listening to music, being outdoors.

Find your passion in life, and never let that feeling get away.  Truer words have never been spoken.  You name it, and I have probably done it as a job!  Lifeguard, hotels, grocery, valet...  even the Army.  Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for sports.  Watching and playing sports is still a big part of my life today.  There has been a similar passion for animals since I was a little guy.  Until now, I never realized how I could take that to a whole new level.  I have the greatest job in the world!  My four legged "clients" have an unconditional love that shows every time I visit...

What could be better than seeing a smiling face, and a wagging tail every time you open a door?!  In a perfect world, every dog would have a home, and every home would have a dog!!!

Hello, my name is Karen and for as long as I remember I have been crazy about animals.  For many, many years I flew for an airline, traveling all over the world. It was very exciting visiting different countries and I thought it was the best thing that had ever happened to me.  What with being away so much there was just no way to have any pets at home. I did volunteer work for several animal rescue organizations, but I longed to have my very own angel!  Now I am retired from flying, and as they say, when one door closes, another one opens.  Then last year it happened, early one 32 degree morning, I found an abandoned little dog shivering in the bushes, inches away from heavy traffic.  I took one look at that tiny little face and it was love at first sight.  Her name is Sadie and she is now my best friend and the love of my life.  People have commented on how great it was that I rescued her, but I am certain it was the other way around.  Even though I had the most fantastic times in some of the most beautiful and exotic places, nothing has brought me more joy than this amazing little angel.  Without a doubt, she is the best thing to have ever happened to me and I wouldn't trade her for the world!

I can trace my whole life back through a series of dogs.  My first dog “Colby” was my very best friend. He came into my life when I was five years old. I can remember my mom picking me up from preschool saying “I have a surprise for you.” That dog and I clicked instantly.  He never left my side. Since then there has been Jonny, Hector, Harley, Bodhi and my current best friend, Bobby Sue. We love to hike, swim and just get outdoors!!

In general, I love all animals and promise to always treat you, your home and your pets with the respect you deserve. See ya soon!!!

I grew up in Houston and I love this city.  I enjoy the outdoors and take my dog Bobby Sue on all my adventures.  She has accompanied me everywhere from the tops of mountains, to lakes and rivers, and through deserts.  I will provide personalized care for your cats and dogs in your absence.  My purpose will be to keep your pets stress free and provide them with loving care while you are away.  I look forward to providing your pets and home with the love and respect they deserve.

Hello my name is Alaina and I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me. I am a native Houstonian and I grew up in the Meyerland area. I graduated from Bellaire High School and studied early childhood development at Houston Community College. I have worked at the same private preschool for over 20 years teaching toddler and preschool aged children. I've always loved children and animals. I have an amazing 12 year old daughter named Brooke who also shares my passion for animals. We adopted our first rescue dog from Busters friends in Highland Village about 6 years ago. We began volunteering for them on a regular basis after we adopted our Mabel. We then adopted two more dogs and a cat! I am affiliated with several different rescue groups and volunteer for them. I also leave one available space for a foster dog at all times.

I am so excited to be making a career change from teacher to pet sitter and dog walker! This is my dream job and I am so excited to meet all of the wonderful dogs and cats that will become my future clients! I will treat each animal with utmost respect and compassion. Their health happiness and safety is extremely important to me. I look forward to a wonderful adventure!

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and retired from Harris County.  In today's society with everyone's busy schedule, I feel that helping others care for their pets is not only very important but a privilege as well.  Although I am new to the Houston Pro Pet Sitters team, the experience and training I have received from the staff has been outstanding.  They have show me how important it is to always be professional, loving and caring towards each of our client's pets.  I realize the major responsibility of the task at hand and I am now ready to go out and be the employee that Houston pro pet Sitters and our clients expect.

I enjoy taking care of my daughter and her husband's two pets, Cooper (a Jack Russell Terrier) and Lucky (a Beagle mix).  How excited they both get when I pick up their leashes for their morning and afternoon walks and treats afterwards.  Confidence and trust are major factors when dealing with all clients and their pets.  You can not go wrong with Houston Pro Pet Sitters.  Your pets are your family and I am hoping to be a part of your pets' family too.  I am dedicated to care for your pets as though they are my own and I look forward to assisting with your needs
